Would you board a flight listed on the departures board as Finnair Flight 666 to HEL on Friday the 13th?
That’s what travellers faced when flying from Copenhavn to Helsinki last September and December (2013) and again in June this year (2014). Friday the 13th and the number 13 is considered bad luck in many Western countries, 666 is considered the devil’s number, so this flight was three times damned, or was it?
Finnair flies AY666 with an Airbus A320 on this route daily.
To ease passenger concerns airlines such as Scandinavian Airlines, Continental, Air France, British Airways and KLM do ont have an aisle 13 on their aircraft, so is this due to superstition? Whereas Finnair and other regional carriers like Norwegian and Estonian Air keep row 13.
BTW, Flight 666 to HEL on Friday 13th touched down in Helsinki without event.
Wow! That’s amazing! I don’t know if I would have had the guts to get on that plane…
On a side note, the first 3 digits of my phone number are “666,” so my husband laughs and says, “Satan’s calling!” whenever I call him. 🙂
LOL! Satan’s Calling? I dont think my wife would let me get away with that.
I’m not superstitious, so I would have most certainly got on that flight. I may have been on my own though! 🙂
